Dupuytren’s Disease
Dupuytren’s disease or dupuytren’s contracture is a hand deformity that develops over a period of many years. The condition is characterized by knots that develop in the tissue beneath the palm. As this tissue thickens it can eventually pull one or more of the fingers into a bent position. Thereafter, it becomes difficult to straighten one’s fingers and to carry out everyday activities.
